Fitness Training with BOSU, Stability ball, and TRX
Pilates (or the Pilates method) is a series of about 500 exercises inspired by calisthenics, yoga and ballet. Pilates lengthens and stretches all the major muscle groups in the body in a balanced fashion. It improves flexibility, strength, balance and body awareness.
TRX Suspension Training
TRX is a form of suspension training that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete the exercises.
TRX training is great for flexibility, balance, and coordination. While it is a strength training system, there is definitely a cardio component and we can use specific exercises to add more.
Our gym is outfitted to use the TRX Suspension Training for individuals or small groups. If you are specifically interested in TRX training, discuss this with your trainer in your orientation session.

BOSU Ball Training
A bosu ball is a great addition to any well-rounded fitness routine. Bosu stands for “both sides up,” because it can be used ball side up or down.
Bosu balls have a flat base and a half-sphere ball so that you can stand on the ball side that itself is stable on the base, or turn it over and use it like a wobble board.
Incorporating a bosu ball into your private session or in a class adds variety, intensity, and flexibility to your workout. Balancing on a bosu ball while lifting free weights adds the challenge of stability for your core muscles in coordination with weight movement.
We have fun adding the variety and challenge of working on the bosu ball. It is useful in so many ways including as a stretching and relaxation aid.
